Hey German Klubbers!
Hope you had a fantastic break from university and are raring to get stuck back in (to German Klub activities at least!)
This Semester we will, of course, be hosting the good ol' favourites of Stammtisch @ Una's, Movie Nights and Trivia Nights.
Our major event, Oktoberfest, will also be a great excuse to pull out the Lederhosen and Dirndls once more, taste-test the best of German exports, and catch up with the crowd!
There are also plans for more excursions and adventures this semester, including dinners, trips to the cinema, and even trips out of town! What's more, we'll be joining up with some of neighbours from UTS for some friendly German klub rivalry and good times.
So, to get straight into the swing of things, pop down to Manning front and backcourtyard for Re-O Day 08 from 10-4pm on Wednesday 30th July. There will be updated event info, a chance to sign up for all the newbies (and make sure you're on the mailing list etc) and, if you're quick, freebies galore!
As we've also lost some of our executive members to the allure of international travel we are also in need of a new Secretary and Vice President!
We will be holding a General Meeting on Thursday 31st July (time and place TBC - please check emails, and the website early in Week One). These positions are open to any one with a passion for the German language and culture so come along and join in the fun and organisation of the Klub. Being on an excutive, particularly in these positions, is a great way to get into the uni spirit, meet loads of great people, and help to make the Klub even better!
Bis Bald!
xx German Klub
